Have you noticed? The understanding of playing this thing by Chinese people is quite different from many countries around the world. In China, playing seems to have become a luxury, not something that should be part of life at all. But if you look abroad, it's a completely different story; we always love to attach all kinds of serious labels to things related to play. For example, take chess; it has to be said that it exercises the mind. Playing basketball has to emphasize physical fitness. Even watching the Spring Festival Gala once a year, which is originally meant for fun, ends up being an educational experience with the programs inside. But these things are originally meant to be played with; they must somehow produce some gains. We Chinese parents have to call this 'educational and entertaining', but why is that? Because in the 'mainstream values', the word play sounds unserious, like a degenerate thing that can't be put on the table. Many people deep down feel that we simply have no right to play, but in reality, most of us forget that when you are having fun, there is really no need for guilt. Because this kind of happiness is just the way life should be.
