Technical Architecture

Grass sovereign data Rollup is a network specifically built on Solana that enables the protocol to handle all transactions from data sources to processing, verification, and building datasets. The network mainly consists of the following parts:

  1. 验证器(Validator): Receives, validates, and batch processes the router's web transactions, generating ZK proofs to verify session data on the chain.

  2. Router (: Connects Grass nodes to validators, maintains the traceability of the node network, and relays bandwidth.

  3. Grass Node ) Node (: Utilize users' unused bandwidth and relay traffic to scrape public web data.

  4. Zk Processor: Batch processes the validity proof of all session data for Web requests and submits the proof to the L1 blockchain.

  5. Grass Data Ledger: Custodians of the complete dataset and link the data to its corresponding chain proof, ensuring the traceability of data sources.

  6. Edge embedding model: Transforming unstructured Web data into structured models, including data cleaning, normalization, and structuring processes.

Technical Features

The Grass network operates between the client and the web server, where web requests from the client are sent through the validator and ultimately routed through the Grass nodes. The server responds to web requests, allowing its data to be fetched and sent back to the line. Subsequently, the data is cleaned, processed, and prepared for training AI models.

The Grass data ledger is the permanent storage location for all fetched data, embedding metadata that records the complete lineage of the dataset. The metadata proof for each dataset is stored on Solana's settlement layer.

The ZK processor helps to record the source of the datasets captured on the Grass network. When a node sends a web request to the site, the encrypted response returned contains all the requested data. This process logs the origin of the dataset and its metadata, including session keys, the URL of the scraped website, the target website's IP address, transaction timestamps, and other information.

Grass Node Operation and Security Mechanism

Running a Grass node is free and acts as a gateway for the network to the internet. Node operators will receive rewards based on the traffic relayed through their nodes, with rewards determined by their reputation score and geographical demand.

The main purpose of the nodes is:

  1. Pass the traffic initiated by the client and indicated by the validator
  2. Return the encrypted Web server response to the specified router

Node reputation scoring mainly includes four aspects: integrity, consistency, timeliness, and availability.

In terms of security, the Grass network does not access users' personal data and only routes internet traffic through users' IP addresses. The network uses bandwidth encryption to ensure that users are protected while sharing an internet connection and collaborates with the network security compliance auditing company AppEsteem to monitor product safety 24 hours a day.

Grass token features

Grass token holders can participate in the network in the following ways:

  1. Trading and repurchase: Supports network scraping transactions, dataset purchases, and LCR usage.
  2. Staking and Rewards: Stake Grass to the router to facilitate network traffic and earn rewards.
  3. Network Governance: Participate in network development, propose and vote to support network improvements.

Currently, the annualized yield of staking Grass is about 45%, with approximately 33% of the tokens participating in staking, totaling over 26 million.
